A 37-year-old man detained during search warrants in the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie says he has no connection to the case, but the Pima County Sheriff's Department confirms he has not been cleared as investigators continue processing evidence. Authorities have received tens of thousands of tips and are now using advanced genetic genealogy to identify an unknown DNA sample found inside Nancy’s home after it failed to match in CODIS, a method that previously helped catch killers. While officials say there’s no evidence Nancy was taken to Mexico, they believe the crime was targeted, may have involved more than one person, and are urging the public to come forward as reward money climbs to $200,000.
