When they went to check on her at 1:30am, her bed was empty and both Monica and her bible were missing. Her aunt and uncle were later given polygraph tests about that night, and her uncle failed. A search of a 10-mile radius was conducted, but no evidence was found. Her strange missing person case has been at a standstill since 2004, but investigators haven’t given up hope. Many people believe that her uncle was involved in her disappearance, but others believe she may have been kidnapped by a bus driver who had been pestering her in the days leading up to her disappearance - but both of these suspects have been cleared by police, leaving them at another dead end.
