The victim was his boss... Billy Phillips, a repeat offender with a history of escalating criminal behavior, turned to fraud after securing a position of trust. He siphoned money using blank checks, and when discovered, was fired. Seeking revenge, Phillips targeted his former boss, Geoff Biddle. He disabled Biddle's car and held him hostage for two hours before fatally shooting him four times.
