At Charlotte County Airport, an employee reported his AirPods stolen after tracking them to a co-worker’s home. When confronted, the co-worker returned a pair of AirPods but claimed they belonged to his son, leading to confusion over ownership. Deputies investigated and found mismatched serial numbers between the AirPods and their case, confirming they weren’t the rightful owner’s. Despite the suspect’s insistence that he only “found” the AirPods and planned to return them, deputies determined he had taken property that wasn’t his and charged him with theft... here's the full bodycam from the officers who responded.
