At approximately 7.45pm on Tuesday 17th February 2004 2 Police Officers arrived at a property in Walthamstow, east London. They were responding to a job which sounded unbelievable, a man had had his arm ripped off and it was unclear whether he was alive or dead, the reality was far worse. They soon came face to face with Peter Bryant who had only hours before been released from a psychiatric hospital, He was covered in blood. Inside the flat they found the dismembered body of the flat’s occupant, 43 year old Brian Cherry whose skull had also been broken open.
