On December 18th 2019 deputies responded to a trailer in Escambia County Florida. Inside they found 16-year-old Dakota with a single gunshot wound to the head. He died ten days later. When investigators brought 18-year-old Kristian Ard in for questioning she had her story ready. She was asleep. She woke up and found him on the floor. She had no idea what happened. What she didn't know was that detectives already had her phone records. The bloody Clorox wipes from her trash. The shell casing hidden in her cigarette pack on the center console. And 30 minutes of phone activity before she ever called 911. Three interrogations. A polygraph. And one sentence at the very end that told investigators everything.
