Chad Guy Daybell was convicted of murdering his first wife, Tammy Daybell, and Lori Vallow Daybell's two children, Joshua "JJ" Vallow and Tylee Ryan, in Idaho. The children disappeared in 2019 and their remains were discovered buried on Daybell's Rexburg property in June 2020, months after Tammy had died under circumstances initially considered natural. Prosecutors argued that Daybell and Vallow Daybell used their religious beliefs about "zombies" and evil spirits to justify eliminating people they regarded as obstacles to their relationship and plans for a new life. A jury convicted Daybell of three counts of first-degree murder and related conspiracy and fraud charges in May 2024 and sentenced him to death. He remains on Idaho's death row.

Lori Norene Vallow Daybell became one of the most notorious criminal defendants in the United States after her two youngest children, Joshua "JJ" Vallow and Tylee Ryan, disappeared in Idaho in 2019. Their remains were discovered buried on the property of Vallow Daybell's fifth husband, Chad Daybell, in June 2020. Vallow Daybell was convicted in Idaho in 2023 of murdering both children and conspiring to murder Tammy Daybell, Chad's first wife, and was sentenced to three consecutive life terms without parole. She was subsequently extradited to Arizona, where she was convicted in 2025 of conspiring to murder her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, and her niece's former husband, Brandon Boudreaux. She received two additional consecutive life sentences with the possibility of parole after 25 years.

Chad Doerman murdered his three young sons, Clayton, Hunter and Chase Doerman, at the family's home in Monroe Township, Ohio, on June 15, 2023. Doerman shot seven-year-old Clayton, four-year-old Hunter and three-year-old Chase with a rifle in what prosecutors described as execution-style killings. His wife and stepdaughter were also injured during the incident. Doerman was initially charged with multiple counts of aggravated murder, kidnapping and felonious assault and faced the possibility of the death penalty. In August 2024, he pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated murder and two counts of felonious assault and was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences without parole, plus 16 years for the assault convictions.

Nikita Casap is an American convicted double murderer who killed his mother, Tatiana Casap, and his stepfather, Donald Mayer, at their home in Waukesha, Wisconsin, in February 2025. Prosecutors established that the killings were committed to obtain money, weapons and independence to carry out a planned assassination of U.S. President Donald Trump using an explosive-laden drone. Casap pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and, in March 2026, was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

Anthony Todt became one of Florida’s most infamous family annihilators after murdering his wife, three children, and family dog inside their Celebration, Florida home in 2019. Prosecutors alleged Todt killed the family over several days before living alongside the decomposing bodies while attempting to avoid financial collapse, criminal exposure, and personal ruin. The case generated intense national media attention because Todt publicly presented himself as a successful physical therapist and family man before the murders were uncovered. Investigators later revealed mounting financial fraud allegations, insurance investigations, and severe personal pressures surrounding Todt before the killings. The horrifying circumstances inside the home, combined with Todt’s shifting explanations and bizarre courtroom behavior, made the case one of the most heavily discussed family annihilation murders in modern American true crime.

Christian Longo became one of America’s most notorious family killers after murdering his wife and three young children before fleeing the country and assuming a new identity in Mexico. Nicholas “Nick” Browning is an American man convicted of the 2008 murders of his parents and two younger brothers in Maryland. At the time of the offence, he was 15 years old and living in a suburban family environment. The case gained national attention due to the age of the offender and the deliberate nature of the killings. Browning was later convicted and sentenced to multiple life terms.
