William J. Brock became widely known after fatally shooting 61-year-old Uber driver Lo-Letha Hall outside his home in South Charleston, Ohio, on March 25, 2024. Brock had been deceived by telephone scammers into believing his family was in danger and wrongly concluded Hall was part of the scheme when she arrived to collect a package through the Uber app. A jury rejected Brock's claim of self-defense, finding that Hall was an innocent victim with no knowledge of the scam. Brock was convicted of murder in 2026 and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Hadden Irving Clark became one of America's most infamous convicted murderers after killing six-year-old Michelle Dorr in 1986 and Laura Houghteling in 1992. Known for his erratic behaviour, cross-dressing, and extensive claims that he committed numerous additional murders, Clark has remained a controversial figure in criminal investigations. While many of his confessions have never been corroborated, his two confirmed murders continue to attract significant attention from investigators and true crime researchers.

Ian Rich became known in Ohio criminal history after carrying out a targeted drive-by shooting on Interstate 77 that killed David Perez and seriously wounded Jacqueline Perez on April 28, 2024. Prosecutors alleged Rich deliberately followed the couple from Newburgh Heights before pulling alongside their vehicle and firing multiple gunshots. He later pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, attempted murder, and firearms offences, receiving a prison sentence of 40 to 46½ years. The case attracted significant attention because of the seemingly unprovoked nature of the attack and subsequent claims regarding Rich's mental health and drug use.

Richard Matthew Allen became one of America’s most heavily discussed accused killers after being arrested in connection with the Delphi murders in Indiana. The case became a worldwide true crime phenomenon because investigators released haunting audio and video evidence from the crime scene while the murders remained unsolved for years. Allen’s arrest shocked the public because he had lived quietly within the Delphi community for years while allegedly remaining hidden in plain sight. The investigation generated enormous online obsession, countless internet theories and massive media scrutiny, turning the Delphi murders into one of the most discussed American homicide investigations of the modern internet era.

Israel Keyes became one of America's most infamous serial killers after carrying out a series of meticulously planned murders across multiple states between 2001 and 2012. Unlike many serial offenders, Keyes travelled extensively, buried "kill kits" years in advance, and deliberately selected victims with no personal connection to him. Although he confessed to eight murders, investigators believe the true number of victims may never be known due to his suicide before revealing the full extent of his crimes.

Robert Clive Napper became one of the United Kingdom's most infamous serial killers after murdering Rachel Nickell in 1992 and Samantha Bisset and her four-year-old daughter, Jazmine, in 1993. Before his identification, Napper committed numerous violent sexual assaults across South East London, becoming known as the "Green Chain Rapist." Advances in DNA profiling eventually linked him to the murders after years of investigative failures, making his case one of Britain's most significant forensic breakthroughs.

Harold Frederick Shipman became one of the most prolific serial killers in modern history after murdering patients under his care while working as a general practitioner in England. Convicted of 15 murders in 2000, a subsequent public inquiry concluded he had likely killed at least 215 patients, with some estimates suggesting the true total exceeded 250. Shipman's abuse of trust, combined with the enormous scale of his crimes, fundamentally changed patient safety, death certification, and medical oversight throughout the United Kingdom.

Paul Charles Denyer became one of Australia's most infamous serial killers after murdering three young women in Melbourne's bayside suburb of Frankston between June and July 1993. His crimes created widespread fear throughout Victoria, leading to one of the state's largest homicide investigations. Following his arrest, Denyer pleaded guilty to the murders and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a non-parole period. He remains incarcerated and is one of Australia's most notorious convicted serial killers.
