Rashod Newton, who once tried to turn his life around after spending time in jail for drug charges, found himself on a darker path after his relationship with Alessia Mesquita. Despite steady work and becoming a father, Newton struggled with drug use, which strained his relationship with Mesquita, who was warned by loved ones to leave him but felt she could help him. When Newton suspected Mesquita of infidelity, tensions escalated tragically. In a heated argument while driving, she either exited the vehicle voluntarily or was forced out. Newton then stopped, confronted her, and fatally shot her four times. With their one-year-old daughter in the backseat, he fled, leaving behind a scene of heartbreak and shattered lives.
