Today’s true crime case takes us back to July 2010 when 37 year old Raoul Moat was released from prison and he was looking for revenge. This 6ft 3 17stone man who had a history of violence against woman and children was determined to punish his ex girlfriend Samantha Stobbart for refusing to continue to be his punching bag by killing her and her new partner Chris Brown. Within 48 hours of his release, Chris was shot dead and Samantha was seriously injured. Moat contacted 999 to declare war on the Police and then shot PC David Rathband in his patrol car, blinding him. After a week long manhunt the life of Raoul Moat ended in a field outside the town of Rothbury in Northumberland.
