Angela Wagner was a central participant in the Wagner family conspiracy that resulted in the Pike County massacre, one of the deadliest family murder cases in Ohio history. Along with her husband George "Billy" Wagner III and sons George Wagner IV and Edward "Jake" Wagner, she helped plan the murders of eight members of the Rhoden family during a custody dispute involving Jake Wagner's daughter. Angela pleaded guilty in 2021 to multiple charges, including conspiracy and aggravated burglary, and agreed to testify against her family members in exchange for the dismissal of the aggravated murder charges. She was sentenced to 30 years in prison and will not be eligible for release until the early 2050s.

Paul Charles Denyer became one of Australia's most infamous serial killers after murdering three young women in Melbourne's bayside suburb of Frankston between June and July 1993. Sarah Buzzard was convicted of the aggravated murder of 21-year-old Ryan Zimmerman, whose dismembered remains were discovered in Mercer County, Ohio, in January 2016. Zimmerman had moved from Kentucky to Columbus in 2015 and was living with Buzzard, her then-husband and Buzzard's friend Naira Jen Whitaker. Investigators determined that Zimmerman was killed inside the Columbus apartment in September 2015. Buzzard later confessed to strangling him and dismembering his body, telling investigators that she was angry with Zimmerman and believed he had contributed to the breakdown of her marriage. Whitaker was identified as an accomplice but died by suicide when police attempted to arrest her in 2021. Buzzard pleaded guilty to aggravated murder in December 2021 and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years.
