Robert Farmer

australian • imprisoned

Robert Black Farmer became one of Australia’s most notorious child killers after the 2008 murder of 18-year-old Lauren Huxley on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Prosecutors alleged Farmer abducted Lauren as she walked home from a night out before sexually assaulting and murdering her, triggering one of the largest and most publicized homicide investigations in Queensland history. The case generated national outrage because of Lauren’s age, the predatory nature of the attack, and the extensive manhunt that followed. Investigators later uncovered forensic evidence linking Farmer to the crime, while media coverage focused heavily on his criminal history and escalating pattern of sexual offending. The murder remains one of the most infamous stranger-abduction killings in modern Australian criminal history.

Scott Nelson

Scott Nelson

american • imprisoned

Scott Edward Nelson is an American convicted murderer who was sentenced to life without parole for the 2017 kidnapping and murder of Jennifer Lynn Fulford in Winter Park, Florida. Fulford, 56, worked as a personal assistant, caregiver and house manager for a family in Winter Park. On September 27, 2017, she was working at her employer's home when Nelson forced his way inside. He bound Fulford and abducted her in her own vehicle. Fulford was reported missing after she failed to pick up the child she cared for from school. Her body was discovered three days later in a wooded area in Orange County. The medical examiner determined that she had suffered multiple stab wounds and died from a combination of stab wounds and asphyxiation. Nelson was arrested in Jacksonville on October 1, 2017. Investigators linked him to Fulford's disappearance through evidence including the victim's vehicle and surveillance footage showing him using her bank card at an ATM. At trial, Nelson admitted that he killed Fulford but argued that another man, his probation officer Julio Dominguez, was ultimately responsible for her death. The jury rejected his defense and convicted him of first-degree murder, kidnapping, carjacking and robbery in June 2019. During the penalty phase, Nelson told jurors that he wanted to be executed and described himself as a "homicidal maniac." The jury nevertheless recommended life imprisonment rather than death. He was subsequently sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

american • death_row

Tomasz Roman Kosowski is a former Florida plastic surgeon convicted of the first-degree murder of attorney Steven Cozzi. Cozzi disappeared from the Blanchard Law office in Largo, Florida, on March 21, 2023, while representing defendants in a civil lawsuit brought by Kosowski. The prosecution alleged that Kosowski's increasingly bitter dispute with Cozzi developed into a planned attack. Investigators found blood in the law firm's bathroom, surveillance footage showing a man believed to be Kosowski removing a large covered cart from the building, and forensic and digital evidence linking Kosowski to the disappearance. Cozzi's body has never been recovered. Kosowski was arrested four days after Cozzi disappeared and charged with first-degree murder. After repeatedly changing legal representation, he ultimately dismissed his attorneys, waived his right to a jury trial and represented himself before Pinellas County Circuit Judge Joseph Bulone. On September 23, 2026, Judge Bulone found Kosowski guilty of first-degree murder. The sentencing phase remains unresolved. The judge found that the murder was committed for financial gain and was cold, calculated and premeditated, but rejected an additional aggravating factor alleging that the murder was especially heinous, atrocious or cruel. A Spencer hearing was scheduled for October 8, 2026, after which Kosowski faces either life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty.

Tyrone Noling

Tyrone Noling

american • death_row

Tyrone Lee Noling is an American death-row prisoner who was convicted of the 1990 murders of Bearnhardt and Cora Hartig in Portage County, Ohio. Noling was 18 when the couple were killed during a robbery at their home in Atwater Township. He was convicted in 1996 of two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary and sentenced to death. The Ohio Supreme Court later upheld his convictions and death sentence. Noling has consistently maintained that he did not commit the murders. His conviction relied heavily on testimony from three young men associated with him, all of whom later recanted or said police had pressured them to implicate Noling. No physical evidence has ever connected him to the crime, and the murder weapon was never recovered. The case has subsequently attracted significant wrongful-conviction concerns. DNA testing excluded Noling from biological material recovered from a cigarette at the crime scene, while later investigations identified evidence pointing toward other possible suspects. In August 2026, the Ohio Parole Board held a rare clemency hearing after Noling sought a full pardon. The board recommended that Governor Mike DeWine commute his death sentence to life imprisonment with parole eligibility beginning January 1, 2029. One board member supported a full pardon, while the majority recommended commutation. The final decision rests with the governor.
