On March 23, 2024, James Rummell reported his wife's murder during a robbery, describing a ransacked home and missing truck. Investigators later linked the crime to Darrell Riley, a former prison acquaintance, who had shared detailed accounts, including the $35,000 reward, unbeknownst to Rummell, leading to his alibi's collapse.

On July 10, 2020, Baron Lee, 46, was shot nine times in his driveway in Belleview, Washington, surviving the attack. Two 17-year-olds, including driver Quincy Mendez, were linked to the crime. Investigators found inconsistencies in Mendez’s account, including gloves, firearms, a locked phone, and a $5,000 payoff tied to a more dangerous individual.

Between late December 2021 and January 2022, over 15 fires struck homes in Tacoma and Ruston, Washington, killing 83-year-old James Elliott. Suspect Sarah Jane Ramey had alibis for each incident, but investigators linked her to all scenes via a stolen high-visibility jacket detected by infrared cameras.

On February 2, 2025, deputies in Woodville, Florida, found 61-year-old Ryan dead at his rural property. His step-granddaughter, 34-year-old Katie Haynes, reported the call, stating she didn’t know she’d caused his death. She claimed she blacked out after Ryan assaulted her, but conflicting phone messages cast doubt on her account during the investigation.

A woman called friends to pick her up after discovering her boyfriend cheating. When they arrived, they assaulted him, leaving him critically injured. She later faced interrogation, denying intent to harm him, but detectives questioned her cooperation in locating the bedroom door despite her claims.

On March 21, 2025, Alex Muanambuta attacked two friends in Champaign, Illinois, killing 22-year-old Nathan Gudeman and seriously injuring his girlfriend, Kaitlyn Lassy, whose carotid artery was narrowly avoided. Despite a detailed alibi, GPS data, blood evidence, and Lassy’s testimony led to his arrest and confession.
