On October 12, 2012, Shanya Hubers called 9-1-1 to report that she killed her then-boyfriend Ryan Poston in his home in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. Hubers shot Poston six times, but she continually maintained that the killing was in self-defense. Poston's murder received national news coverage, and Hubers frequently was compared to Jodi Arias.
