It was a case that local a Sheriff described as the 'type that law enforcement fear most': a known killer, choosing his victims frequently and randomly. As the killer evaded capture he appeared to have company. The couple’s movements were tracked across state lines. Police began to question if his companion was his captive or his accomplice.
