On the night of June 4, 2010, Mildred “Millie” Flett, a 51-year-old mother of five from the Tataskweyak Cree Nation, was seen for the last time in downtown Winnipeg. Witnesses reported seeing her getting into a brown car with her ex-boyfriend—a man she had previously sought a court protection order against. She was never heard from again.
