In May 2007 the world was gripped by the story of missing 3 year old Madeleine McCann who went missing whilst on a family holiday in Praia da Luz in Portugal. Almost 16 years later a Polish woman called Julia Wandelt grew a massive online following claiming that she was the missing child using the profile name @IAmMadeleineMcCann. This unhinged, disturbed woman currently sits in prison awaiting trial for stalking the McCanns and despite her being an obvious fraud and someone who has previously claimed to be other missing children, she seems to have a devoted following of defenders who justify her callous behaviour.
