Today’s true crime case is about the “Kobe Cannibal” Issei Sagawa who murdered and ate 25 year old Renée Hartevelt in 1981. Sagawa did not face any punishment for his crimes, instead, sickeningly, he became a minor celebrity in Japan even becoming a food critic. Evil among us is a channel which focuses on horrific serious cases from the UK and abroad with a focus on lesser known cases and serial murderers from around the world. Issei Sagawa spent much of his youth fantasizing about eating human flesh. It’s not surprising that, while in college, he invited a young woman back to his apartment so he could make his fantasy become a reality.
